What a great time to be a chiropractor! As we enter April, remember to review your office policies. Often we set and forget them. Dr. Miles Bodzin starts us off with a story from when he was practicing, recommending long-term care plans for his patients motivated to correct the loss of their cervical curve. These care plans triggered an investigation from a colleague that didn’t see the value or efficacy of such programs. Flip to page 10 to learn what happened next, and what you can learn from it.

Also, this issue, flip to page 14 now to learn from Dr. Rick Serola’s life-long mission investigating the sacroiliac joint, and it’s effects on the body near and far. This issue, Dr. Serola focuses on the Lumbaispine in “The Biomechanical Cause of Lumbar Disc Herniation,” beginning on page 14.

Herniated discs are a core diagnosis to consider when a patient enters your clinic with low back pain, especially if that pain extends into the leg, below the knee. If you have a hot disc, you will want to be aimed with certainty when triaging and creating your treatment plan. On the cover, you may have noticed the feature story interview with Dr. Eric Kaplan, and Dr. Perry Bard on Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. Flip to page 24 now, to see what these two chiropractors are bringing to the table, and how their experience may help you with patients suffering from herniated discs that may be approaching the operating room.

All this and more! Look us up online at digital, theamericanchiropractor.com, and be sure to update your flee subscription annually. As always, read this issue cover to cover, and be sure to mention to our advertisers that you saw their ad in The American Chiropractor Magazine, your trusted professional resource.
