Well, what a year 2020 is turning out to be! June marks that half-way point, and we certainly can’t predict how it will end. If the beginning of the year is any indicator, it’s sure to be eventful. Let’s draw some inspiration in this journey from the remarkable feat accomplished by Colin O’Brady, and his crew, in crossing the Drake Passage, as seen on the cover. This team had a secret weapon, with experts Dr. Kristine Polly, Ph.D., and Karma James, Ph.D. from the Standard Process’ Nutrition Innovation Center (NIC), ensuring that each rower in the team stayed well-nourished throughout this adventure. Flip to page 20 now to read about how the recipe of the nutrition bars was formulated.

With all we’ve been through this year from the Coronavims pandemic, panic, and social shut-down, an awareness of the need for all chiropractors to work during what is being dehned as the “new normal” has emerged. Some chiropractors have chosen to take on much more limited roles than others to reduce the spread of the vims to risk groups, which may include themselves. According to Rod Lacy, MD, DC chiropractors should expand their scope to include intravenous therapy, in addition to other rights and privileges in the healthcare setting. He points out this is a privilege that chiropractors deserve by undertaking a more rigorous chiropractic education curriculum than had been present 40 years ago. Flip to page 28 now to learn his take.
